Jones starts Japan season with a win

The PGA of Australia would like to congratulate New South Wales’ Brendan Jones on his victory at the Token Homemate Cup on the Japan Golf Tour.
Starting the day back in a tie for sixth Jones shot a bogey free nine-under-the-card final round to move up the leaderboard, claiming victory by two strokes with a tournament total 15-under-par 269.
"That was probably one of the best rounds of my life," Jones said to the media after his win.
"To do it in front of so many people in the gallery, it's just a dream start to 2012."
Jones has been a regular on the Japan Golf Tour since 2001 with this being his 11th career victory on the tour.
This is just the second tournament Jones has played in 2012 having previously played the NZ PGA Pro-Am Champipnship on the PGA Tour of Australasia where he finished in a tie for sixth.
Collecting a cheque of $320,000 Jones will next play the Tsuruya Open in Hyogo Japan from 19 – 22 April.
Brendan Jones joins Scott Hend, Luke Bleumink, Nick Cullen and Kieran Pratt as Australian winners on international tours for 2012.
